”The Good Part” by Sloan Treacy

Chorus Chronicles 23 June 2025

Emerging 16-year-old singer-songwriter Sloan Treacy is celebrating the launch of her new single, The Good Part. The 2nd single from her forthcoming sophomore EP was recorded in Los Angeles and Sloan’s new hometown of Nashville. Produced by Don Miggs (Cowboy Mouth, Dolly Parton) and mixed by Grammy-winner Mark Needham (The Killers, Imagine Dragons), Sloan states, “This song is about denial and longing, where someone keeps promising something better, but they know it’s never really coming.

Treacy wrote this song at the last minute before going into the studio, and then decided to record it on the spot.” The Good Part follows the EP’s lead single, Optimist, and the 2024 release of Sloan’s debut EP, Stuck, also
produced by Miggs, which showcased her unique sound and songwriting prowess. Highlighted by the title track, along with the singles Mastermind of Madness and Great Escape, Sloan proclaims, “Each song has a unique message and sound, all crafted to help get my truth across”. Her music has been compared to artists like Gracie Abrams and Lizzy McAlpine, known for their heartfelt and relatable lyrics.

An avid reader, Sloan also spends her free time baking and running track for her high school team. Sloan professes, “I just moved to Franklin, Tennessee, which I love because it’s very close to Nashville and has so many cool opportunities to perform and to watch great music. I love going to concerts, it’s one of my favourite things. I can’t wait to tour and share my music with as many people who resonate with it as I can.”
