“Point of No Return” by Imitation

Posted on 12 November 202425 March 2025 By Chorus Chronicles No Comments on “Point of No Return” by Imitation

Rising electronic duo Imitation is set in space: a sound that can instantly transport audiences once again with their hauntingly beautiful new single, “Point of No Return,” out September 27. Known for its signature blend of indietronica, Imitation creates an immersive sonic experience that pushes the boundaries of the genre, and this latest song is no exception.

“Point of No Return” opens with a pulsing, trance-like synth line that immediately transports listeners into a nostalgic, otherworldly rave atmosphere. The haunting, almost sinister tone sets the stage but is contrasted by angelic, melancholic vocals that provide a delicate counterbalance. Light piano accents punctuate the track, adding an ethereal quality that is calming and unsettling.

The single is the latest preview of the duo’s upcoming album, “Time Rhymes,” due later this year. The song’s haunting, calming presence is frequently interrupted by the eerie, dissonant synth that opens the track, invoking feelings of familiarity mixed with disorientation. This tension captures the album’s larger concept of transcending time and space: a sound can instantly transport you to a specific moment, bridging the conscious and subconscious.

The release of “Point of No Return” also sets the stage for Imitation’s exclusive live listening event on October 1, where a select group of fans will get a sneak peek into the full album, “Time Rhymes.” This intimate event will give attendees a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process behind the album, including never-before-told stories about how it came to life. With limited seating, the event promises an unforgettable evening of sound and storytelling.
